teamLab Ruins and Heritage: Rinkan Spa & Tea Ceremony offers a unique immersive experience that blends contemporary digital art, traditional Japanese sauna culture (rinkan-chanoyu), and ancient nature. Set in the historic Mifuneyama Rakuen park in Kyushu, Japan—home to 3,000-year-old sacred trees and caves with Buddhist figures carved over 1,300 years ago—the exhibition invites visitors to clear their minds in the hotel's award-winning bathhouse before contemplating artwork set amidst forest ruins and abandoned bathhouse structures.

The concept revolves around the intersection of overlapping space-times. Interactive digital projections, such as real-time blooming flowers and cascading waterfalls, are cast onto ancient megaliths and crumbling walls. The art is never pre-recorded or looped; it evolves continuously in response to human presence. By dissolving the boundaries between past and present, nature and technology, the exhibition allows viewers to perceive themselves as part of a grand, continuous flow of time and life.
